The United Nations appealed for emergency aid for the flood victims in Pakistan. Addressing the ceremony at the Foreign Office, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that the people of Pakistan are facing an extraordinary monsoon, more than a thousand lives have been lost and millions have been destroyed.

He said that the heart is saddened by the difficulties faced by the country hosting the refugees, the United Nations has appealed for 160 million dollars in aid for Pakistan.

Antonio Guterres says that Pakistan needs help for the flood victims, Pakistan is facing severe effects of climate change.

Pakistan urgently needs the help of the international community, Bilawal Bhutto

 Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says that Pakistan is directly affected by global warming, Pakistan urgently needs the help of the international community.

Bilawal Bhutto said that cloudbursts and torrential rains caused floods, there is a need for rehabilitation and reconstruction in flood-affected areas, heat waves broke records in Pakistan due to climate change.

He said that Pakistan is facing heavy rains and floods due to climate change, 3 crore people in 72 districts are facing flood situation.

He also says that it is becoming difficult for the flood victims to access food and drink, and he is grateful to the friendly countries and the international community for the assistance.

He said that Pakistan is in urgent need of tents and mosquito nets.

10 billion dollars will be required for the rehabilitation of flood victims, Ahsan Iqbal

Speaking at the ceremony, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal said that the last four years were a disaster for the country, not a single rupee was spent on the flood protection program, the performance of every sector is zero to zero.

He said that the conspiracy to sabotage the IMF program has links to foreign funding or not? It is a betrayal of the people of the country who are inundated by floods, more than ten billion dollars will be needed to rehabilitate the flood victims.

Ahsan Iqbal says that more than 1100 deaths have occurred in Pakistan since the beginning of monsoon season, Pakistan is facing serious food security challenges.

He also said that the United Nations (UN) humanitarian coordinator’s aid efforts for Pakistan are commendable, 50 percent of the cotton crop has been affected by rain and floods, and it is hoped that the international community will come forward to help Pakistan. will come

Speaking on this occasion, UN Resident Coordinator Julian Harness said that the flood disaster in Pakistan is beyond imagination, the international community should show solidarity for Pakistan affected by climate change.

A national emergency has been declared, Chairman NDMA

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz while giving a briefing said that spring season has not come in Pakistan this year, summer has started, monsoon rains started earlier this year.

Chairman Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz says that Pakistan has faced four heatwaves this year, 30-year record has been broken due to rains in some areas, emergency has been declared at the national level.

He said that 72 districts of the country are facing flood situation, more than 10 lakh houses, 20 lakh acres of land and more than 3 crore people have been affected by floods in Pakistan.

Addressing the meeting, China’s delegate in Geneva said that floods have caused huge loss of life and property in Pakistan.

The Chinese delegate says that the Chinese president, prime minister and foreign minister express solidarity with Pakistan.

He said that China has decided to give additional 25 thousand tents and other necessary equipment to Pakistan, China will continue to provide aid to Pakistan for flood victims.
