Turin’s Digital Tribute to Resistance: 20-Day Video Series Commemorates Historic Sites.

Turin, Italy – April 5, 2024: Turin is honoring its rich history of resistance with a unique digital initiative. Starting April 5th, the city will release a series of twenty videos online, each highlighting a significant location tied to the city’s Liberation struggle.

The project, spearheaded by Torinogiovani and the association Plurale, aims to commemorate the 20 months of resistance leading to Liberation Day on April 25th. Renowned director Stefano Di Polito has crafted these videos, each offering a concise and engaging narrative of the events at the featured location.

Among the iconic sites featured are Casa Gobetti, Palazzo Campana, Albergo Nazionale, and more, each with its own story of bravery and defiance. Luca Zanotta, a young historian, provides insightful commentary, offering viewers a deeper understanding of Turin’s role in the Resistance.

The videos, available on the Tellingstones app, will be released daily, leading up to the culmination on April 25th. This initiative not only pays homage to the heroes of the past but also serves as an educational tool, with teachers encouraged to use the videos as part of their history lessons.

Stefano Di Polito, the project’s director, expressed his hope that the videos would be widely shared, spreading awareness of Turin’s rich history of resistance. The project, supported by the Resistance and Constitution Committee of the Piedmont Region, aims to keep the spirit of resistance alive for future generations.

As Turin commemorates its past, it also looks forward, ensuring that the stories of sacrifice and courage are never forgotten.
