March 30, in Piazza Castello, Turin, a demonstration will take place from 9 am to 8 pm advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza. Organized by the Sereno Regis Center and the Turin Mosques network, and coordinated by Torino per Gaza, the event aims to raise awareness about the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine.
The demonstration will call for a ceasefire in Gaza and other conflict zones, an end to the occupation of Palestinian territories, the release of prisoners on both sides, and assistance to the Palestinian population. It will also demand permanent negotiations for peace and security in the Middle East.
Recent events in Turin have highlighted the city’s involvement in the Israel-Palestine conflict. The University of Turin’s Academic Senate recently decided to suspend participation in the “Maeci” tender, which aimed to foster collaboration between Italian and Israeli universities. Additionally, a protest by pro-Israel groups on March 26 called for the restoration of relations with Israeli universities.
Tomorrow’s demonstration underscores the local community’s commitment to peace and solidarity with the people of Palestine.
