Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the military leadership was present at the meeting of the National Security Committee. ?
Talking to a private TV channel, the Pakistan Army spokesman said that the participants were told in detail that there was no evidence of any conspiracy.
“Unfortunately, for some time now, propaganda has been going on against the forces and the military leadership,” he said.
Major General Babar Iftikhar said that Pakistan Army has not increased its budget since 2020. The Army has reduced its budget by 100 billion rupees and has limited its expenditure on utility bills.
Pak-China relations important for peace in region
Talking about the Army Chief’s visit to China, the DG ISPR said that the visit was very important. The Army Chief also met the Chinese President.
He said that Pakistan-China relations are of a very strategic nature and Pak-China relations are important for peace in the region.
The Pakistan Army spokesman said that the security of Pak-China Economic Corridor (C-PAC) projects was not compromised, the security of C-PAC was given exclusively to the Pak Army.
He said that 24-hour work was being done on security of C-Pack projects.
DG ISPR said that China played an important role in enhancing Pakistan’s defense capabilities.
‘Pak army has reduced budget by Rs 100 billion’
The Pakistan Army spokesman said that whenever the budget is presented every year, the defense budget is discussed. The defense budget is kept in view of threat perception, challenges, nature of deployment and resources.
He said that India’s growing defense budget should be kept in mind. The Pakistan Army has not increased its budget since 2020. In terms of inflation, the defense budget has been reduced.
Major General Babar Iftikhar said that the budget of the Armed Forces has been steadily declining in terms of GDP.
“We have also reduced spending on utility bills, reduced unnecessary mobility to save on petrol and diesel, and made conferences online,” he said.
According to DG ISPR, the government of Pakistan has returned Rs 6 billion received from Corona last year.
He said that more than 2 million patients are recovering from the military foundation every year.
Major General Babar Iftikhar said that unfortunately for some time now there has been propaganda against the forces and the military leadership.
Avoid commenting on FATF’s recent session
A Pakistan Army spokesman said in an interview that he would not comment on the recent session of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
He also said that India lobbied for Pakistan to be blacklisted.
