Karachi: Syed Amaan Shah, the Provincial Convener of the Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has said that the continuous rise in the prices of sugar and flour is nothing short of a deadly poison for the national economy and is pushing the people deeper into poverty and deprivation. He stated that these two commodities are essential for every household, but their skyrocketing prices have broken the backbone of the common man.
In his statement, Syed Amaan Shah expressed that the life of the average citizen has become unbearable. The working class can no longer afford to buy even bread and sugar with their daily wages. He added that although the government makes repeated claims, the lack of practical steps has resulted in no relief for the people.
He accused hoarders and profiteers of being behind this artificial crisis of flour and sugar, stating that they are exploiting the public for their own gain. He warned that if the government does not immediately launch a crackdown against this mafia, the situation will become even more severe in the coming days.
Syed Amaan Shah further emphasized that inflation not only destroys the economy but also leads to an increase in crime, unemployment, and various social problems. He pointed out that if the government fails to fulfill the basic needs of the people, its other plans and policies will prove meaningless.
He demanded that the government take urgent, practical steps to reduce the prices of sugar and flour. Providing relief to the people is the most pressing need of the hour; otherwise, public anger and unrest will pose serious challenges for the ruling authorities.
