Karachi: The Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) hosted a seminar on Tuesday titled “The Conflict in the Middle East,” bringing together diplomats, scholars, and strategic experts to discuss the evolving regional situation and its implications for Pakistan.

Participants examined the shifting dynamics in the Middle East and explored potential avenues for de-escalation, emphasizing the importance of sustainable peace. Speakers underscored the need for dialogue and restraint, highlighting that responsible diplomacy is critical during periods of heightened tension to ensure regional stability.

The seminar also focused on the human cost of the conflict, noting that civilians often bear the heaviest burden. Experts stressed the need for measures aimed at protecting lives and promoting peace. Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to peaceful coexistence and regional cooperation was highlighted as a model for fostering dialogue and harmony.
The session concluded with a shared resolve to continue engagement and support initiatives that reduce tensions and promote lasting peace.
Founded in 2003, KCFR is a Karachi-based think tank dedicated to advancing Pakistan’s national interests through dialogue and engagement with the international diplomatic community.
Speakers at the seminar included former ambassador Zamir Akram, KCFR Patron-in-Chief Ikram Sehgal, Chairperson Nadira Panjwani, Senior Vice Chairperson Huma Baqai, and other experts.
