77 years have passed since the Soviet people eliminated the greatest scourge on Earth – Nazism. Every year on May 9th we celebrate the heroic Victory of the Soviet people, who liberated not only their own Motherland, but the whole World as well. That was a feat unparalleled in the history of humanity.
This heroic achievement of our ancestors is not just a distant memory for all of us – it is a part of our life, our moral pillar, the benchmark of our endeavors and ideas, actions and deeds. Victory Day will always have a tremendous spiritual and moral significance and be a sacred date for us. The iron will, stamina and morale of the victors’ generation give us strength and moral compass in our work and everyday life.
Victory Day is a holiday of such sincere, genuine feelings of joy and pride that defy words. This occasion unites people of all generations and ethnicities. We honour and thank the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and World War II for their sacrifices so that we could live happily under the peaceful sky.
However, it is painful to witness that even after all the tragedies endured by the humanity during the World War II, some nations and their leaders have not learned the lesson. After the numerous attempts to rewrite history and resurrect this delusional ideology, the plague of Nazism is currently on the rise. However, Russia is fighting this abominable beast of Nazism just as our ancestors, who exhibited the strong will to battle for the truth, and I strongly believe that our country will be victorious this time again.
The memories of the Victory’s brave heroes and modest labourers will be cherished forever. We bow our heads before the defenders of our Motherland and pay tributes to their valour.
