Karachi: Visa has announced a strategic partnership with 1LINK, Pakistan’s largest payment service provider. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Saleem Ullah, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, and senior leaders from both Visa and 1LINK.
This new collaboration integrates Visa’s Alias Directory Service into 1LINK’s network. This integration aims to simplify remittances, enhance user experience, and secure payment information. The goal is to make financial transactions smoother and more inclusive for everyone in Pakistan.
Leila Serhan, Visa’s Senior Vice President for North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan, praised the partnership. “Pakistan is a key player in global remittances, and our work with 1LINK will help accelerate the country’s digital payments transformation,” she said.
1LINK CEO Najeeb Agrawalla expressed enthusiasm for the deal. “This partnership will speed up and secure home remittances and expand eCommerce by accepting PayPak cards on Visa’s Cybersource Platform,” he explained.
The collaboration also includes enhancing cross-border payments through Visa Direct, which enables real-time transactions worldwide. The State Bank of Pakistan reports increasing preference for digital payments, with significant growth in both remittances and eCommerce transactions.
