Social media apps that were shut down after violent protests across the Pakistan have been reinstated.
It should be noted that after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Islamabad High Court, violent protests started across the country. Due to which the internet was shut down earlier on the order of the Ministry of Interior to control the law and order situation. After that all apps were also closed.
He was subsequently released after the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the PTI chairman’s arrest illegal, following which the Ministry of Interior restored internet service across the country a few days ago.
Speaking to media, the PTA spokesperson said that the social networking website Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other apps have been restored.
