Karachi : Provincial Minister of Energy and Development and Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is our institution which will take steps on a solid basis for the improvement of other institutions and the stability of the country, tourism institutions will remain with the Sindh government. This institution will take measures with the collaboration and mutual support of the Sindh government. In this regard, a meeting was held between CM Sindh and SIFC in which the institution assured the Sindh government that whatever steps they will take. They will do it by taking the Sindh government into confidence and by mutual consent. Nasir Shah said that Sindh government will have the authority to decide the final steps regarding SIFC. He said that there are many rumors and reports of concerns about the institution, which have no truth, only speculations. Sindh Government and SIFC are working together for the best of the country. He expressed these views today in the Sindh Assembly while talking to media representatives along with senior leaders of Pakistan People’s Party Punjab. Minister Nasir Shah said that work on 5700 development schemes is going on in Sindh province. In the new budget, priority will be given to all these schemes so that all these ongoing schemes in the larger interest of the people can be completed with quality by 2024. In a question, Nasir Shah said that our students are stuck in Kyrgyzstan and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto directs steps are being taken to bring him back. He added that just as the federal government has played a key role in this regard, the Sindh government is also playing its full role and is engaged in practical measures. They are arranging a special flight to bring the children back to their homeland, all the expenses of which will be borne by the Sindh government. Nasir Shah said that all water projects will be completed on priority basis in view of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s directive and public difficulties and sufferings. If the federal government was ours, according to the manifesto of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, we would have provided free electricity up to 300 units to all the electricity consumers of the country. Since our government is in Sindh province, currently, in the first phase, they are taking steps to provide 100 units of free electricity to the people of Sindh, while gradually free electricity will be provided to those who use 300 units. In response to a question, he said that he will popularize the use of solar energy in the province. He said that he considers taxation on solar energy to be a complete injustice to the people and discussions are ongoing with the federal government in this regard. Minister said that the Sindh government is providing electricity to the National Grid by generating cheaper electricity than other provinces. He added that the need of the hour is to set up more and more solar parks to meet the energy requirements. Nasir Shah said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s vision is to provide maximum relief to the people, if the people are not being given subsidy on electricity, then alternative energy tax should not be imposed. Nasir Shah said that taxing solar energy would be inappropriate and cruel. On this occasion, General Secretary of PPP Punjab Hasan Murtaza said that the role of PPP has been trampled. They do not support the bill presented by the Punjab government. Punjab government should sit down all the journalistic organizations and then take a decision. The bill restricts journalists, which the PPP opposes. Mr. Hassan said that we did not go to the House due to opposition to this bill and we stand with the farmers and are part of the farmers’ protest. On this occasion, the newly elected member of National Assembly of People’s Party Punjab, Mumtaz Ali Chang, who won with a huge majority, also addressed the media and expressed his views.
