Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon unveiled a series of major development initiatives on Tuesday, including the recruitment of 4,400 new teachers and the creation of four new IBA community colleges in the province.
Speaking at a press conference, Memon announced that 34,000 public schools in Sindh will receive financial autonomy starting next quarter. The aim is to enhance educational quality and improve school management systems.
He also highlighted significant investments in the health sector, with priority funding being allocated to institutions such as SIUT, PPHI, NICVD, and Chandka Medical College Hospital. The province also plans to upgrade its ambulance services.
Focusing on urban development, Memon said Karachi will receive a special development package targeting road infrastructure, water supply, sewerage systems, and public transportation. As part of the province’s push toward eco-friendly transport, 100 more electric buses are set to be launched by August, following the rollout of the initial 50.
Additionally, under the Benazir Hari Card program, phased subsidies will be provided to 200,000 farmers. The minister reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to ensuring timely execution of all development plans.
