Muridke, Pakistan — 23 January 2026 — Service Global Footwear Limited (SGFL), Pakistan’s largest footwear exporter, has announced a strategic joint venture with China’s Golden Star Footwear Group, marked
by the inauguration of a new advanced footwear manufacturing facility adjacent to SGFL’s Muridke Plant.
The joint venture, operating under the name SAGF — Service Athletic Global Footwear, aims to establish a world-class, export-focused footwear manufacturing platform in Pakistan, combining Golden Star Footwear Group’s global production expertise, technology-driven manufacturing systems, and process discipline with SGFL’s scale,
operational strength, and local industry leadership.
This initiative is designed to complement SGFL’s established strength in leather footwear while enabling strategic expansion into high-growth athletic, non-leather, and textile footwear segments, aligning Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities with evolving global demand trends.
The newly inaugurated facility is equipped with modern, environmentally responsible technologies and internationally compliant production systems, supporting higher efficiency, consistent quality, and scalable export capacity in line with global brand requirements.
Pakistan currently produces over 561 million pairs of footwear annually, placing it among the world’s largest footwear-producing countries. However, the country remains underrepresented in global footwear exports, highlighting significant untapped potential. This joint venture seeks to bridge that gap by strengthening technology adoption, workforce capabilities, and export-oriented manufacturing systems, positioning Pakistan as a reliable and competitive sourcing destination for international footwear brands.
In addition to strengthening industrial capabilities, the SAGF project represents a meaningful inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI), reinforcing investor confidence in Pakistan’s manufacturing sector and supporting long-term economic growth.
