Karachi: The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), the country’s leading IT and IT-enabled services industry body, concluded a highly successful participation at GITEX Global 2025, the world’s largest technology and startup event that concluded at the Dubai World Trade Centre. P@SHA led a prominent delegation to highlight Pakistan’s burgeoning digital economy, foster international collaborations, and drive innovation on a global stage.

The Pakistan Pavilion, inaugurated by Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja alongside P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam, and other key figures, featured over 100 tech firms and a number of promising startups. This marked a significant expansion in Pakistani representation, underscoring the nation’s IT exports reaching $3.8 billion in FY25.

Throughout the event, the P@SHA delegation—also including CEC Members Sheikh Abdul Qadir and Usman Akbar—engaged in high-level networking, B2B sessions, and explorations of international pavilions including GCC countries. They attended the GITEX Power Summit, met with major investors from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, and discussed strategic initiatives to integrate Pakistani tech solutions into global markets.

A highlight of P@SHA’s participation was the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), reinforcing cross-border partnerships and innovation. P@SHA formalized an MoU with HUB47 to empower Pakistan’s startup community, focusing on entrepreneurship, market access, and global opportunities. The agreement was officiated by Usman Akbar on behalf of P@SHA and Muhammad Shahbaz Khan, Director of HUB47, in the presence of Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Muhammad Umair Nizam, Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Kheezran Khan, and representatives from the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and other stakeholders.

This collaboration aims to connect Pakistani entrepreneurs with international ecosystems, accelerating innovation and economic growth.Additionally, P@SHA member company CODORA signed two MoUs during the event, led by their Vice President of Engineering Muhammad Atif Siddiqui. These agreements aim to foster global tech partnerships, further highlighting the innovative capabilities of Pakistan’s IT sector.

Muhammad Umair Nizam formalized three international collaborations on behalf of P@SHA during GITEX Global Dubai 2025 – aimed at P@SHA’s global outreach and connecting Pakistan’s IT industry with emerging opportunities across continents.

The first, for FLEX Global 2026 by GITEX, outlines a collaboration on the future of work and learning event set to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, aiming to foster innovation in professional development and skills. The second targets GITEX Türkiye 2026, with a letter of collaboration to explore Pakistani participation in one of the world’s most prominent global tech and startup gatherings in Istanbul, Türkiye, opening doors for cross-border partnerships and investments. Finally, a letter for GITEX LATAM 2027 focuses on expanding Pakistan’s representation at the inaugural edition in São Paulo, Brazil, highlighting opportunities for IT exports and regional tech synergies in Latin America. These moves underscore P@SHA’s efforts to position Pakistani firms amid evolving international tech landscapes.

Another notable development included an MoU between P@SHA member Sybrid and Super Technologies, witnessed by Sajjad Mustafa Syed and Sheikh Abdul Qadir, emphasizing advancements in digital transformation.

“P@SHA’s presence at GITEX Global 2025 has been instrumental in showcasing Pakistan’s tech talent and forging alliances that will propel our industry forward,” said Sajjad Mustafa Syed, Chairman of P@SHA. “The MoUs signed here are a testament to our commitment to building a robust digital ecosystem that benefits startups, entrepreneurs, and the broader economy.” The delegation also strengthened ties with key partners, including a productive meeting with HBL to explore collaborations in fintech and digital banking, and pre-event networking hosted by Sherdil Cloud.

These efforts align with Pakistan’s digital vision, supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC); Ministry of IT & Telecom; Tech Destination Pakistan and PSEB – positioned to create job opportunities for the youth and expand the country’s IT exports on a rapid scale. As GITEX Global 2025 wraps up, P@SHA looks forward to leveraging these connections for sustained growth, positioning Pakistan as a key player in the global tech landscape
