The economic situation is bad, the promise of reduction in energy tariff should be fulfilled, Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab, Malik Khuda Bakhsh.
Karachi (March 6, 2024) United Business Group (UBG) President Zubair Tufail, Chairman (Southern Zone) Khalid Tawab and Core Committee Member Malik Khuda Bakhsh met Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Chief Ministers of the four provinces, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. While congratulating Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfaraz Bugti on assuming office, he expressed the belief that steps will be taken to strengthen the country’s economic conditions through mutual cooperation at the federal and four provincial levels. The government should keep the economy at the top of its priorities and consult with the business community immediately. UBG leaders said that the promises made to the business community in the previous government of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif could not be fulfilled. As soon as the federal cabinet is announced, Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif fulfills the promises made in his previous government to solve the problems faced by trade and industry, especially to keep the increasing tariff of energy to a minimum. Zubair Tufail, Khalid Tawab and Malik Khuda Bakhsh said that it is a matter of satisfaction for the business community that Mian Shehbaz Sharif, an experienced politician in Pakistan, has been elected as the Prime Minister of the country for the second time. Assuring its full cooperation, it also expects that Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif will take strong measures for the stability of the economy, because at present the country’s economic situation is not satisfactory in any way and business conditions are deteriorating day by day. Exports are decreasing while the agricultural sector is also suffering from problems. In these circumstances, the Federation should focus on strengthening the economy, trade and industry in consultation with the governments of the four provinces and the leadership of FPCCI.
