ISLAMABAD – PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto has advised Prime Minister Imran Khan to dismount from the ‘container’ and do his work.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, he accused the federal government of sabotaging the efforts of the Sindh government. “The prime minister has failed to establish the national solidarity. He should resign if he does not want to work,” he added.
He said that the federal government’s incompetence caused a loss to the provinces. “We will have to fight the war against coronavirus setting aside the differences,” he said.
The PPP chairman said that the prime minister targets the Sindh government in his each statement, but the PPP has never responded to his statement.
“The PPP has established hospitals most of all during the last 10 years. Patients other than coronavirus also need ventilators and ICU,” he said.
Bilawal Bhutto said that they will not make any decision under pressure from businessmen and the federal government. “The federal government wants to divert attention from the coronavirus pandemic,” he added.
He said that several conspiracies were hatched against the 18th Amendment. “There is no threat to the 18th Amendment. The prime minister will have the powers of the Islamabad mayor if we started discussion on the 18th Amendment,” he said.
He said that the federal government had not accepted the demands of doctors. “The Centre should help the Sindh government to spend on the health sector,” he added.
Earlier addressing a party meeting through video link on Thursday, he said that it was tragic that the federal government is opposing the good work of Sindh.
He demanded that the relief fund provided by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and G20 should be given to the provinces.
