Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a big relief for traders worried about fixed tax and people worried about fuel adjustment on electricity bill.
While talking to the Pakistani people in Qatar, Shahbaz Sharif announced the abolition of fixed tax imposed on traders and fuel adjustment charges on 1 crore 71 lakh electricity consumers.
He said that due to the efforts of the present government, the risk of bankruptcy of Pakistan has been averted, he is hopeful that it will help in controlling inflation in the coming days.
The Prime Minister further said that the country had reached bankruptcy due to the worst performance of the previous government, we are trying day and night to bottle the genie of inflation in the country.
He said that I admit that there has not been enough success in reducing inflation, the fixed tax of traders was imposed against our intention, in this regard, a committee has been established which will determine those responsible.
Shahbaz Sharif also said that the small traders cannot be put in trouble, the fixed tax imposed on traders in the budget has been abolished, the gap of 42 billion rupees will be filled from other sources.
He said that the purpose of the fixed tax was to save the traders from the handouts of the Income Tax Department.
The Prime Minister said that there are 3 crore electricity consumers in Pakistan, out of which 1 crore 71 lakh consumers will not have to pay additional fuel adjustment charges in their electricity bills.
He said that if the oil is ordered at a high price, then it is adjusted in the next month’s bills, there was a significant increase in the fuel adjustment in the months of July and August, we were working on this issue for 4-5 days.
Shahbaz Sharif said that fuel adjustment is being reviewed on 1 crore 30 lakh consumers.
He said that one has to move forward with perseverance and courage, one has to work hard with sincerity, my heart testifies that good days will come, there is no use in crying over the past.
The Prime Minister said that the agricultural refiners with tube wells will also get exemption from fuel adjustment, Khurram Dastgirkal will explain the procedure of FAC in the press conference.
