KARACHI: A six member’s official delegation from Pakistan left for Singapore to attend 17th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting on Advancing Social Justice and Promoting Decent Work. Regional meeting will be held from 6th to 9th December, 2022.
The tripartite delegation is led by Haider Zulfiqar, Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development(MOPHRD), Zaki Ahmed Khan, Vice President, Employers’ Federation of Pakistan(EFP) is representing employers and Zahoor Awan, ILO Member Governing Body is representing workers. Others include Afzal Junaid, Section Officer, MOPHRD, Ahmed Zulfiqar, Secretary, WWF, and F.K. Siddiqui, Senior Advisor, EFP.
The Regional Meeting will feature and deliberate on important issues including the Need for Renewed Social Justice for Human Centered Recovery, Integrated Policy Agenda, and the Institutional Framework to support the transition toward formality and decent work.
“The issues related to skills for productivity, growth, and better jobs, strengthening multilateral cooperation for decent work, occupational safety, and health as a fundamental right, and promotion of tripartite declaration of principles concerning multinational enterprises in Asia and the Pacific will also be discussed for promoting human-centered and inclusive development.
