Islamabad, November 2025: Pakistan achieved a proud milestone at the first-ever Eurasian Film Academy Awards “Diamond Butterfly”, held in Moscow, Russia from 24–27 November, where Ms. Soniya Hussyn secured the Best Supporting Actress Award for her outstanding performance in the Pakistani film “Deemak.”
The inaugural award ceremony featured participation from 17 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America with 34 movies, offering a diverse and vibrant global platform for cinematic exchange.

Pakistan took part in the festival with two films — “Love Guru” and “Deemak.” The national delegation comprised officers from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including Mr. Zahidullah Khan and Mr. Muhammad, as well as Mr. Jetha Nand, Second Secretary/ Diplomat of Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow, Russia.
Actress Soniya Hussyn, who starred in Deemak, attended the event and brought honor to the country through her well-deserved win.
Pakistan’s participation in the first-ever Eurasian Film Academy Awards reflects the nation’s growing engagement with global cinema and its commitment to showcasing Pakistani talent on international platforms.
