Speaking in Karachi on Tuesday, Bostan said Pakistan-China economic relations have entered a “new and sustainable era,” adding that expanding the historic friendship between the two countries into stronger private-sector partnerships could prove to be a game changer for Pakistan’s economy.
He stressed the importance of promoting business-to-business (B2B) engagement and increasing direct interaction between Pakistani and Chinese investors, manufacturers, and trade organizations.
According to Bostan, significant progress has already been made in recent years to deepen economic cooperation between Pakistan and China, with joint venture agreements worth more than $13 billion signed across multiple sectors.
He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) continues to offer enormous economic opportunities for both nations, while the ongoing visit of Chinese investors and business leaders to Pakistan is expected to accelerate the implementation of the second phase of CPEC.
Bostan noted that the arrival of Chinese business representatives would not only increase bilateral trade volume but also help generate local employment opportunities and facilitate the transfer of modern industrial technology to Pakistan.
He further stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China could result in important developments aimed at expanding cooperation in several strategic sectors.
The E-CAP chairman emphasized that Pakistani exporters and manufacturers must focus on producing value-added and high-quality products to strengthen exports to China and compete effectively in international markets.
He identified minerals, agriculture, food processing, chemicals, and information technology as key sectors offering significant opportunities for Chinese investment and joint ventures in Pakistan.
Bostan also urged Pakistani business organizations and entrepreneurs to take full advantage of Chinese expertise, advanced technology, and industrial experience to modernize local industries and expand export capacity.
He said the Chinese delegation’s visit would open new avenues for investment, industrial cooperation, and long-term economic partnership between the two friendly nations.
