Islamabad: The Federal government on Monday announced to remove the heads of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Zarai Taraqiati Bank and First Women Bank, according to a notification.
The notification, released by the finance division, said, “In pursuance of federal cabinet’s decision taken in its meeting held on October 4, 2018, the reappointment of President/CEO First Women Bank Tahira Raza is hereby terminated with immediate effect.”
“Executive Vice President (of the First Women Bank) Naushaba Shahzad will be the acting president and CEO,” it added.
On October 4, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry had announced that the government would remove the officials “illegally appointed” by former finance minister Ishaq Dar from service.

Ms. Naushaba Shahzad Head Risk Management has a successful banking career history with FWBL and a well known personality as having a diversified banking experience, solution finder; prompt responsive, and a woman who delivers in crises.
She manages and supervises the entire credit portfolio of the Bank including syndicate financing, corporate credit, SME and consumer financing. She is the focal person for all credit related issues i.e. guidance / advice to branches, liaison with corporate clients, product development, training of credit team. Her performance can be measured from threefold increase in credit portfolio and reduction of classified portfolio to 1.51% only during her tenor. She is also member of the Bank’s Executive Committee and Executive Credit Committee, and played an active role in the decision making and policy-making arena. She also worked as Head of Financial Services Desk.
She has diversified and successful Banking experience of 21 years with First Women Bank limited. She is the only executive of FWBL who has been awarded “Best Executive of the Year award” thrice for her extra ordinary performance. Also she was awarded the “Best Employee of the Year award” in 2001. She has a distinguished academic career, has done her Master of Science in Statistics and stood first in the university, was awarded a Gold Medal by Punjab University (broke previous record of Punjab University for securing highest marks). An outstanding student throughout her academic career, was also given the “National Youth Talent Appreciation Award”.
