The investigation into Mustafa Amir’s murder has taken a significant turn, exposing an international drug trafficking and money laundering network linked to the victim and his associates. This breakthrough emerged following explosive revelations from Sahir Hasan, the son of renowned actor Sajid Hasan, who is currently in police custody.
Initially focused on the murder, the case expanded after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) uncovered ties to a large-scale drug smuggling operation. Authorities are now investigating how narcotics were allegedly trafficked via Karachi Airport and local courier services for distribution across the city.
Shocking Revelations by Sahir Hasan
Sahir Hasan, presently in physical remand, was arrested amid a crackdown on the drug trade following Mustafa Amir’s murder in Karachi. During interrogation, he reportedly revealed the names of influential businessmen, politicians, and other key figures involved in narcotics distribution.
According to police reports, Sahir admitted to handling drug payments through his father’s manager’s bank account. He also disclosed that he had been modeling for five years and had been addicted to weed for 13 years. Furthermore, he confessed to selling weed for two years, operating his business through Snapchat, and sourcing drugs from individuals named Bazil and Yahya.
Authorities revealed that Sahir smuggled drugs worth millions using courier services, paying between Rs400,000 to 500,000 weekly to procure over a kilogram of weed twice a month. He reportedly sold one gram of weed for Rs10,000 and used a digital scale for accurate measurements. Additionally, he provided investigators with a list of over 12 clients involved in the trade.
Courier Companies Under Scrutiny
Evidence suggests that courier companies played a significant role in delivering drugs directly to customers, raising concerns about the extent of the network’s operations. Investigators are now looking into whether law enforcement officials facilitated or ignored these illegal activities.
With Karachi Airport suspected of being a major transit point for drug smuggling, authorities are conducting extensive inquiries to identify individuals who may have been involved in the operation.
