Karachi: Commander Builders’ Chairman (Retd.) Commander Mohammad Zakir has announced that under the Low-Cost Housing Scheme, households will be provided with an 80-square-yard house for an installment of 1.9 million PKR. The initiative aims to construct 4,000 homes by 2027, with preparations already underway. Residents of Commander City will also receive free electricity for up to 100 units and two free meals daily at local hotels. Commander Zakir addressed these developments during a press conference on Monday.

Highlighting the housing shortage in the country, Chairman Commander City stated plans to build 5 million homes nationwide, emphasizing their commitment to affordable housing. He assured that beyond the 1.9 million PKR installment, residents would pay an additional 1.4 million PKR over a year for development and utilities.
Commander City’s residents also benefit from free medical treatment up to 400,000 PKR across 236 hospitals, facilitated through health cards. When asked about government assistance, Chairman Zakir expressed the need for refuge but avoided involvement in national politics due to current unfavorable conditions. However, he expressed a willingness to engage in constructive politics when conditions improve.
Operation Uplift, initiated by Commander City, aims to educate and train residents, with plans to skill up to 10,000 individuals, potentially increasing their income fourfold. The project has allocated 4.5 billion PKR to establish an educational institute capable of educating over 3,000 children. Security measures in Commander City are touted as among the best globally, complemented by modern shuttle services for residents’ transportation convenience.
Chairman Zakir urged public support for their vision, asserting Commander City’s commitment to providing the most affordable and high-quality residential facilities compared to other builders.
