According to Election Commission sources, the meteorological department has predicted heavy rains in Sindh, due to which it will be difficult to deliver the election materials.

According to the sources, during this time, election staff and voters may also face difficulties due to heavy rains in Karachi.

According to the sources of the Election Commission, it is not possible to hold the second phase immediately due to Muharram and then Independence Day celebrations after the local government elections are postponed.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to postpone local elections in Karachi, Hyderabad and other areas on the request of Chief Secretary Sindh, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, GDA and Provincial Election Commissioner.

Chief Secretary Sindh had requested the Election Commission to postpone the local body elections due to the forecast of rains in Karachi.

According to the Election Commission, instead of July 24, polling for the second phase of Sindh local government elections will be held on August 28, 2022.
