Last ODI match, West Indies defeated by 53 runs, Pakistan’s clean sweep in the series

Pakistan defeated West Indies in the third and final ODI match and made a clean sweep in the series.

In the third ODI match played at Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Shaheen Shah Afridi was rested by the national team while Shahnawaz Dhani made his debut in ODI cricket in his place. The match was stopped due to wind after which each innings was limited to 48 overs.

West Indies innings

In pursuit of the 270-run target, the visitors returned to the pavilion in 37.2 overs. Shepherd 16, Hayden Walsh 3 and Jaden Sales were all out for zero.

On behalf of the Shaheens, Shadab Khan performed brilliantly all round and guided four players to the pavilion, Mohammad Nawaz and Hassan Ali took 2.2 wickets while Shahnawaz Dhani and Mohammad Wasim Jr. took 1.1 wickets each.

Pakistan innings

Fakhr Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq started the innings for Pakistan against West Indies, Fakhr 35, Imam-ul-Haq 62, Captain Babar Azam only 1, Mohammad Rizwan 11, Mohammad Haris Safar, Khushdal Shah 34 and Mohammad Nawaz 8 Shadab Khan played an innings of 86 off 78 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours and got clean bowled on the ball of Aqeel Hussain.

For the visiting team, captain Nicholas Pooran took the most 4 wickets, Chemo Paul 2, Jaden Sales, Hayden Walsh and Aqeel Hussain led the way to the pavilion.

Thus, the national team scored 269 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 48 overs.

The West Indies playing XI for the third ODI against Pakistan included captain Nicholas Puran, Shy Hope, Kyle Myers, Shamra Brooks, Roman Powell, Casey Carty, Chemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Aqeel Hussain, Hayden Walsh and Jaden Sales. ?

Man of the Match / Series

Shadab Khan, who scored 86 off 78 balls and guided four players to the pavilion for 62, was declared the man of the match while Imam-ul-Haq was awarded Man of the Series for scoring 199 runs in three matches.
