LAHORE – In a deeply disturbing incident that has shaken the conscience of society, a Quran teacher (Qari) was forced to witness the gang rape of his wife by four men in the fields near Shahpur Kanjran, within the jurisdiction of Chohang Police Station, Lahore.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Qari, the incident took place on the night of July 30 at approximately 8:45 PM. The Qari had gone for an evening walk with his 18-year-old wife when they were attacked by a group of young men.
The FIR details that three assailants suddenly emerged from behind. The victim described one suspect as being 17-18 years old, fair-skinned and thin; the second as around 24-25 years old, dark-skinned, heavily built, and wearing jeans with a shirt; and the third as 27-28 years old, wheatish in complexion, who appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants.
Armed with an axe and a metal water pipe, the culprits forcibly dragged the couple deeper into the fields. The Qari recounted the traumatic ordeal, stating that the assailants disrobed his wife and then, in a horrifying act of violence, all three took turns sexually assaulting her while he was held at bay and forced to watch.
The ordeal worsened when another individual was summoned by phone. Arriving on a motorcycle, this fourth perpetrator also subjected the victim to the same brutality. Following the assault, all four accused fled the scene, leaving the couple in a state of devastation.
The Chohang Police Station confirmed that a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Authorities assured that all legal avenues are being pursued to apprehend the culprits and deliver justice to the affected family.
This incident has once again ignited public outrage, raising pressing questions about the safety of citizens and the urgent need for swift justice in cases of sexual violence.
