India: Director Kiran Rao has shared her dreams of having her film “Laapataa Ladies” nominated for an Oscar. In a recent interview with Press Trust of India, she expressed her excitement about the possibility. “My dream would be fulfilled if it goes to the Oscars. But it’s a process, and I hope it will be considered,” she said.
Rao also highlighted that the true measure of success comes from the audience. “If the audience and the nation appreciate our work, that would be the greatest accolade for us,” she added.
The film features a talented cast, including Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastav, Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam, and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma. “Laapataa Ladies” was released on Netflix on March 1, 2024, and has attracted attention for its engaging story and performances.
