Karachi Pakistan : In a significant move to foster international collaboration, President of the Houston-Karachi Sister City Association, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh, paid a special visit to Governor Sindh, Kamran Khan Tessori, at the historic Governor House in Karachi. The high-profile meeting centered on advancing mutual relations, exploring IT partnerships, and accelerating welfare efforts between the two sister cities.
Governor Tessori briefed Muhammad Saeed Sheikh on groundbreaking initiatives including free IT courses for youth, public access to the Governor House, and events promoting interfaith harmony. He also revealed that over 35,000 underprivileged families are receiving monthly ration deliveries a testament to the province’s commitment to inclusive welfare.
A highlight of the meeting was a deep dive into potential partnerships with Houston-based institutions to expand the reach and impact of the Governor’s tech education programs. Muhammad Saeed Sheikh pledged his complete support, promising to act as a bridge for resource-sharing and collaboration.
Saeed Sheikh also toured the Governor House’s newly established “Umeed Ki Ghanti” (Bell of Hope) office and complaint center. He interacted with IT students, admired their entrepreneurial efforts, and praised the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
In a touching tribute to history, Saeed Sheikh visited the preserved office of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and viewed artifacts used by the nation’s founder. As a gesture of mutual respect, Governor Tessori presented Saeed Sheikh with a commemorative shield, while Saeed Sheikh gifted a rare 1840 historic seal on behalf of the Mayor of Houston symbolizing the enduring friendship between the two cities.
