Karachi: Khawaja Moinuddin belonged to Hyderabad Deccan, whose own scholarly, literary, and cultural history is known. Among the companions of Khawaja Moinuddin were Mukhdoom Ibrahim Jalees, Nazar Hyderabadi, Hamaayat Ali Shaair, and others. Professor Doctor Moinuddin Aqeel, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi District Central in collaboration with the idara-e-ilm Dost Pakistan, held a “Muzakrah” on the occasion of the centenary of Khawaja Moinuddin’s birth. He said that the baba-e-drama Khawaja Moinuddin is counted among the founders of dramas in Pakistan. He wrote purposeful dramas in Pakistan and expressed societal issues. I am very pleased to see today’s event, for which I thank the President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah, Bashir Saddozai, and Shahid Mohiuddin, who organized the event at the Arts Council District Central. The distinguished guest of the event, Professor Rais Ahmed Samdani, described the history of Khawaja Moinuddin’s dramas and said that Khawaja Shb depicted the same conditions in Lal Qila as those present in our city. He said that Khawaja Moinuddin introduced the principles of faith, unity, and organization in adult education so that they could be adopted for problem-solving. Mir Husain Ali Imam, Secretary General of the idara-e-ilm Dost Pakistan, presented the agreement on this occasion and said that the auditorium of the Arts Council District Central should be named Khawaja Moinuddin Auditorium, for which I request Resident Director Bashir Saddozai to approve my agreement. Resident Director of the Arts Council, Bashir Saddozai, while approving the agreement, said that a formal announcement of this agreement will also be made. Bashir Saddozai said that English drama classes have started in the Arts Council and computer classes will also be held soon. Among those expressing their views on this occasion were President of the Arts Council, Muhammad Ahmed Shah’s coordinator Shahid Mohiuddin, Advocate Dr. Abid Sherwani, Dr. Farhana Owais, Akbar Ali, Anis Sheikh, Mrs. Gul Bano, Mr. Meem Suad Aiman, Sabihuddin Hussaini, Iqbal Farooqi, Sajid Rabbani, Aziz Ansari, and others were included.
