KARACHI : The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) observed the first death anniversary of
its former Patron-in-Chief and esteemed business community leader, SM Muneer, in a solemn ceremony
attended by KATI President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice
President Nighat Awan, Vice President Muslim Mohammadi, and other members of the Executive
Council.
Paying homage to the late SM Muneer, the speakers reflected on his remarkable contributions to the
business community of Pakistan and his unwavering dedication to steering the country’s economy
toward prosperity. They acknowledged his exemplary efforts in addressing the challenges faced by
businesses, citing his persistent advocacy for solutions until his last moments.
Faraz-ur-Rehman praised the late leader’s pivotal role in enhancing the standing of the Federation of
Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan
(TDAP). He emphasized SM Muneer’s proactive approach in representing the concerns of the business
community to higher authorities, noting that even in the face of illness; he remained committed to the
service of the community.
Describing SM Muneer as an institution in his generation, President KATI remarked that individuals of
such caliber are born once in centuries. He lamented the irreplaceable void left by SM Muneer’s passing,
emphasizing the late leader’s relentless pursuit of solving business-related challenges for the
betterment of Pakistan.
Faraz-ur-Rehman pledged to carry forward SM Muneer’s mission and aspirations, aiming to realize his
dream of transforming Pakistan into a developed country and a global economic powerhouse. The
commemoration event also included a Fatiha organized for the late SM Muneer, during which attendees
prayed for the eternal peace and elevation of his status in the hereafter. The ceremony served as a
testament to the enduring legacy of SM Muneer (Bhaijaan) within the business community and beyond.
