KARACHI – President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Danish Khan, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman and Vice President Maheen Salman applauded initiatives taken by the Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah for the betterment of cleanliness in Karachi.
Danish Khan said that we welcome the strict action by Chief Secretary Sindh against irresponsible behavior of a garbage lifting company. He hoped that after this directive, situation in Karachi will improve.
He cited that last month CS took notice of terrible situation of garbage in Karachi and ordered Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) to scrap contract of a company which failed to fulfill responsibilities regarding garbage collection and dumping.
He also appreciated linking payment and contract of private firms to their performance. Danish Khan urged that there is a need for comprehensive reforms in garbage management and sewerage system of Karachi.
He also lauded Sindh government campaigns for spreading awareness regarding cleanliness and ban on plastic bags for the environmental protection.
