KARACHI, 26 January, 2025: Today, the Hashmanis Group of Hospitals hosted the groundbreaking event, the 7th Edition of Pioneering Innovations in Ophthalmology (PIO) Conference today i.e. 26th January 2025 at picturesque venue, Andulasian Marquee, Karachi. This 7th Edition aims to bring together leading experts from across the globe to discuss advancements in Eye Care – Retina and Diagnostic Technologies.
Led by the legendary Dr. Sharif Hashmani, this year’s conference hosted speakers from USA, Saudi Arabia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates. With an impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed speakers such as Dr. Mohammad Al Hazzazi, Dr. Hugo Hernan OcampoD, and Dr. Tamer H. Mahmoud the conference had insightful discussions, hands-on workshops, and thought-provoking case studies. Topics discussed were Diabetic Tractional Retinal Detachment, Methotrexate in Complicated PVR Cases and Innovations in Endophthalmitis.
Several esteemed local experts shared their insights on the latest developments in ophthalmic care. This landmark event highlighted cutting-edge research, practical advancements, and the collaborative efforts shaping the future of retina diagnostics and treatment.

He shared views by saying; PIO was a thought, a brain child, an ideology perceived 7 years ago, the vision is to connect, collaborate, exchange best practices, share experiences and enhance the overall standard of Ophthalmology practiced in Pakistan.

Sharing the achievements of Hashmanis Group, Arsalan Hashmani said; HGH has been serving this profession since the past 4 decades, started by my father, the legend Dr. shairf hashmani, Today the seed he planted has grown into a network of 6 Eye Hospitals, a laboratory-network of 20 locations with a test menu of over 1,000 tests. We also have dental and aesthetics services setup at 2 locations. Hashmanis Laboratory was at the forefront against covid-19 Pandemic.
On his concluding note, Arsalan Hahsmani said; today we have one of the latest equipments at our hospitals and our hospital group is the most equipped eye-hospital of Pakistan with most services and treatments offered.
With a participation of over 700 doctors nationally from Pakistan and internationally from China, Singapore and Saudi Arabia the event hosted exchanges of ideas and knowledge.
