Karachi: Internationally acclaimed actor and writer Hanif Raja has been honoured with the Best Commercial Theatre Actor Award for his remarkable performance in the Eid-ul-Fitr stage play “Eid Dhana Dhan.”

The award was presented by senior actor and Chairman of the Drama Committee Shehzad Raza during a special ceremony attended by leading figures from Karachi’s theatre industry. Hanif Raja received the honour amid loud applause and appreciation from fellow artists and theatre enthusiasts.
The recognition was jointly awarded by the production team of “Eid Dhana Dhan” and Abbasi Art Promoters in acknowledgment of Hanif Raja’s exceptional acting performance and immense popularity among audiences.
Several notable personalities from the entertainment industry were also present at the occasion, including senior director Jameel Rahi, Zahid Abbasi, Mujtaba Naqvi and Sajid Qureshi.
The successful theatre production marked Hanif Raja’s grand return to the stage after a gap of seven years. His powerful performance and stage presence quickly made him the centre of attention among drama lovers, while the play also achieved strong commercial success during the Eid season.
Building on this momentum, Hanif Raja is now preparing for another major theatrical project for Eid-ul-Adha titled “Burger Bakray,” which he has written himself. According to theatre sources, the script has already been completed, and the actor will once again appear in a completely fresh role with a new storyline.
Fans and theatre audiences, particularly families, are eagerly awaiting Hanif Raja’s upcoming stage comeback, which is expected to become one of the major entertainment attractions of Eid-ul-Adha 2026.
