The Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) has approved a subsidy of Rs 55.48 billion on the prices of petroleum products.
The ECC meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muftah Ismail.
According to the ECC announcement, from May 1 to 15, subsidies will be given on maintaining the prices of petroleum products.
According to the statement, the meeting decided that Rs 55.48 billion would be given to oil marketing companies in the form of subsidy.
The ECC also approved a summary of import of 200,000 tonnes of fertilizer during this period.
According to the ECC statement, it is recommended to import fertilizers on government basis or on deferred payments.
