A widespread issue affected a lot of Android users when the Google Search app crashed from late Saturday to early Sunday. Over 7,000 users reported the problem to downdetector.com, and many shared screenshots on social media showing an error message that said “Google keeps stopping.”
The issue started around 11 p.m. Pacific Time (0600 GMT), according to Google’s status page. Although the app is becoming more stable, Google is still working on a complete fix.
If you’re still having trouble, Google suggests clearing the cache and data for the Google app on your phone. The problem seems to be specific to the Google Search app on Android, and other Google services and platforms are not affected.
For those needing to search immediately, you can use web browsers like Chrome or Firefox to go to “google.com,” which is still working. Alternatively, you can use other search engines like Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex, or DuckDuckGo.
