KARACHI – The Consulate General of Germany in Karachi has announced an immediate suspension of all services for non-European Union (EU) citizens, effective until further notice.
According to an official statement, this suspension applies to all non-EU applicants, including individuals who had previously secured confirmed visa appointments. All such appointments have been canceled, and rescheduling will not be possible at this time.
Those affected are advised to re-register via the consulate’s online portal once services resume. The consulate pledged to provide updates as the situation progresses and expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and cooperation during this disruption.
This move coincides with Sweden’s recent decision to restart visa operations in Islamabad, enabling Pakistani citizens to apply for short-term visas. Additionally, in June, the U.S. consulates in Karachi and Lahore implemented new regulations requiring F, M, and J visa applicants to make their social media profiles publicly viewable.
