PESHAWAR: FlyDubai has officially launched direct flights to Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar, marking another milestone in its expansion across Pakistan. The inaugural flight from Dubai landed Thursday night, carrying 164 passengers. The arrival was celebrated with a traditional water cannon salute and a cake-cutting ceremony.
According to the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), FlyDubai will now operate seven weekly flights between Dubai and Peshawar. The airline also plans to expand connectivity from Peshawar to Gulf and European destinations in the future.
This development comes as part of FlyDubai’s broader growth in Pakistan. Starting July 1, 2024, the UAE-based airline will operate daily flights to Islamabad and Lahore from Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 2. FlyDubai already serves several Pakistani cities, including Karachi, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, and Sialkot, with its operations in the country beginning back in 2010.
Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidalla highlighted Pakistan as a key market, noting, “We have seen sustained demand for travel and with the launch of our new routes, we look forward to offering even greater access to Dubai and our global network.”
