Miss Androulla Kaminara, the Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, said that the European Union is with Pakistan in its efforts to promote interfaith harmony. She expressed these views during an excellent and fruitful her meeting towards progress for peace with Ambassador at Large for Global Peace, Interfaith harmony and Human rights Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) here in Karachi.
During the meeting, the ICPH chairman briefed the EU ambassador with the ICPH Pakistan vision, mission, policy and performance on religious freedom and minority rights overall initiative towards climate change, peace, and harmony and human rights issues along with their solutions during this meeting. They also discussed Girl’s Education, Woman Empowerment, Sustainable and Cross Cultural Collaborations, Human Rights and Human Values, Climate Change and COP26, Interfaith Harmony, Youth Engagement towards empowerment, Minorities Rights and, religious freedom. The growing trends of Islamophobia in the west and the effects in detail.
EU Ambassador said that the recent Corona epidemic has severely affected all human beings but life is slowly returning to normal. She said that the European Union will always continue to support Pakistan’s efforts to promote inter-faith harmony. He thanked the Ambassador of the European Union and said that ICPH Pakistan has always been vocal in protecting the rights of minorities in Pakistan around the world. H.E. Dilarde Teilane (First Secretary of EU), Deputy Governor Sindh, Baluchistan Rotary International Zeeshan Altaf Loya was also present on the occasion.
Ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that ICPH Pakistan values its relations with the EU and we earnestly look forward to enhancing mutually beneficial multi-domain relations based on common interests. Both the EU and ICPH Pakistan, she added, had agreed to work towards “enhancing intercultural and inter-faith dialogue and understanding to promote tolerance and harmony, in particular mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge, people-to-people contacts and education. The EU Ambassador highly appreciated the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) initiatives and urged it to continue with future possible collaboration.
