ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has introduced a major relief initiative for registered workers under the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), announcing a 15% increase in pension payments.
In addition to the pension hike, the ministry revealed that the marriage grant for workers has been doubled, reflecting a 100% increase, while the death grant has also been raised by 50% to provide greater financial support to the families of registered workers.
The Ministry emphasized that these steps underscore Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain’s firm commitment to enhancing the welfare and living standards of Pakistan’s labour force. The measures are aimed at offering timely economic relief to workers and their families amidst rising inflation and economic challenges.
