KARACHI- Former Secretary of Finance & Director EFP Economic Council, Mohammad Younus Dagha, has said that academia-corporate Linkages is very crucial for the development of a workforce with a required skill set that will lead to the economic development of Pakistan, create entrepreneurs for tomorrow and may lead to export acceleration.
In his keynote address as the chief guest at EFP Breakthrough Challenge 2021, he applauded the EFP team for organizing the very first corporate case study competition, in which four leading business schools of Karachi participated to present their findings on three multi-sectorial case studies.
Younus Dagha further appreciated the support by the corporate partners, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, and Foodpanda, for supporting the event by preparing case studies for the participants.
Fasihul Karim Siddiqui, Senior Advisor EFP, in his address expressed the need to reinforce the links between the corporate and academic institutions through transferring of knowledge, creating and sharing research and evidence-based outcomes, and strengthening apprenticeship programs. The initiative of EFP Breakthrough Challenge 2021 is a step towards creating a bridge that may help fill the existing gaps.
Zaki Ahmed Khan, Acting President EFP, emphasized the need to work in collaboration by involving people from the industries in the university’s Board and also to provide opportunities for the faculty member to work in corporate offices for exposure. On behalf of the Board of Directors, he thanked the participants and guests from the Academia for their participation in the event.
The Institute of Business Management (IOBM) won the inaugural competition after scoring the highest marks in all three sessions. The distinguished guests from the Academia showed their immense gratitude towards EFP for practically creating a linkage for the students to get corporate exposure.
