KARACHI – Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Convener MQM Pakistan and former Federal Minister has said that his party will raise the strong voice of industrial community of Karachi at the federal and provincial level to solve the problems facing the business and industrial community of Karachi, and we will play vital role as the real representatives of Karachi.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while addressing the industrialists at North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI), stated that under the World Bank, South Asia’s first mass transit was to be built in Karachi during the MQM era, and mass transit was also a Karachi project but the Federal government did not provide guarantee for the projects. MQM presented major drainage and water supply projects in Karachi.
Faisal Moiz Khan, president NKATI, SVP Shabbir Ismail, VP Naeem Haider, Sadiq Mohammad, CEO NKIDMC, Senior members Syed Usman Ali, S. Tariq Rasheed and a large number of members were also present on the occasion.
Convener MQM Pakistan further said that he would take up the issues of industrialists with the fourteen elected representatives of PTI from Karachi including four members of MQM. Industrialists and businessmen are or may not stand by us, but we stand by them.
Faisal Moiz Khan said that MQM should be the real voice of Karachi’s business and industrial community and highlight their problems in the Sindh Assembly because the highest tax paying city Karachi did not get its right nor were resources provided on an equal footing
Stressing on the need to address the issues facing the industries on priority basis, NKATI president said that trade and industry in Karachi could not develop unless one window facility was provided.
