Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif formed a committee on the statements of Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will head the committee.
A meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in which the PTI Long March was discussed.
A five-member committee headed by Home Minister Rana Sanaullah will review the statements of Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and brief them on the future course of action.
According to sources, the committee includes Interior Minister Qamar Zaman, Ayaz Sadiq, Asad Mahmood and Law Minister Nazir Tarar.
Imran Khan had admitted in an interview that the participants of the peaceful march had weapons, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had threatened to use Khyber Pakhtunkhwa force against the federation in the next long march.
In the meeting, the cabinet members congratulated the people on rejecting the long march on May 25 and said that the people rejected those who created chaos.
Home Minister Rana Sana assured the meeting that any anti-state long march would be dealt with severely.
During the cabinet meeting, JUI Minister for Religious Affairs Maulana Asad Mahmood demanded that the rule of law be ensured.
