Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir has concluded a three-day official visit to Iran, where he held a series of high-level meetings with the country’s top civilian and military leadership aimed at advancing regional peace and stability.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the field marshal, accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a senior delegation, called on Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. He also held separate meetings with Speaker of the National Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Major General Ali Abdollahi.
The discussions focused on the evolving regional security environment, ongoing diplomatic engagements, and coordinated efforts to promote sustainable peace across the Middle East. Both sides exchanged views on de-escalation strategies and emphasized the importance of dialogue in resolving outstanding issues.
Field Marshal Asim Munir underscored Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, highlighting the need for sustained diplomatic engagement to address regional tensions. He reiterated that dialogue and cooperation remain essential tools for achieving long-term stability.
During the meetings, the army chief conveyed warm regards and best wishes from Pakistan’s leadership and people to the Iranian government, reaffirming Islamabad’s desire to further strengthen historic and brotherly ties between the two nations.
He also expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Iranian leadership and people during the visit, describing the engagements as constructive and forward-looking.
The ISPR statement noted that the visit reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic efforts to facilitate a negotiated settlement to ongoing regional conflicts and to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the broader region.
