ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan hosted a spring festival event titled “Chinese New Year, China–Pakistan Go Together” to celebrate the Year of the Horse and reaffirm the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik attended as chief guest, extending congratulations to the Chinese leadership and people. He highlighted China’s unwavering support for Pakistan, particularly during economic challenges, and praised the resilience of the Pakistan–China partnership.
Speaking at the event, Malik noted that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan had navigated economic difficulties with Chinese support, and he expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would accelerate economic growth. He emphasized joint initiatives in the mining sector, citing the Saindak Project’s success and expressing hope that the Reko Diq project would soon become operational.
Malik also reaffirmed that Pakistan and China share an all-weather strategic partnership, with growing collaboration across petroleum, minerals, and other sectors.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong echoed these sentiments, underscoring China’s unshakable confidence in Pakistan and commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple fields for mutual prosperity and well-being.
The event concluded with a celebration of unity, marking the new year as a symbol of enduring China–Pakistan friendship.
