The Balochistan government has officially announced a 10% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance for its government employees from Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 1 to 22, according to a notification by the Treasury Department, as reported by ARY News.
This allowance will be calculated as 10% of the basic pay and will take effect from July 1, 2025. However, this increase will not apply to employees who are currently posted abroad or working on deputation, as clearly stated in the official circular.
The additional allowance will be managed within the revised budget estimates for the current fiscal year, with no extra funds being allocated.
Tax Update for Salaried Class (Budget 2025–26):
- Income up to Rs600,000/year – Exempt from income tax
- Rs600,001 – Rs1.2 million/year – 1% tax on amount exceeding Rs600,000
- Rs1.2m – Rs2.2m/year – Fixed tax of Rs6,000 + 11% on amount above Rs1.2m
- Rs2.2m – Rs3.2m/year – Fixed tax of Rs116,000 + 23% on amount above Rs2.2m
- Rs3.2m – Rs4.1m/year – Fixed tax of Rs346,000 + 30% on amount above Rs3.2m
- Above Rs4.1m/year – Fixed tax of Rs616,000 + 35% on amount above Rs4.1m
These measures aim to provide financial relief to public servants while ensuring progressive taxation based on income brackets.
