Pakistan: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has vowed to strengthen efforts against terrorism and tackle illegal activities. Speaking with troops in Tirah Valley, Orakzai District, who participated in recent counter-terrorism operations, he stressed the importance of protecting the peace secured through significant sacrifices.
General Munir honored the courage of fallen soldiers and law enforcement officers, highlighting how their sacrifices bolster the nation’s resolve to fight terrorism with steadfast dedication. He also praised the police and other law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, pledging the full support of the Pakistan Army to aid their work in newly merged districts.
Commending the local communities for their vital role in supporting security forces, General Munir emphasized their contribution to maintaining peace. He lauded the high morale and readiness of the troops to address any threats. During his visit, General Munir was briefed on the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. He also laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and was welcomed by the Corps Commander of Peshawar.
