Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s well-timed help managed to save the life of award-winning sound designer Shajith Koyeri.
Koyeri lay waiting for a doctor for hours at Bandra’s Lilavati hospital, after suffering a stroke on Thursday morning, reported Mumbai Mirror. Aamir, who had worked with Koyeri for Dangal, arrived at the hospital at midnight, on receiving the news from Koyeri’s family.
Koyeri’s family said that not a single doctor had examined Koyeri, after he was wheeled out of the MRI room where a scan had confirmed the stroke. Aamir moved the sound designer to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri.
Aamir got in touch with Anil Ambani’s family, who own the Kokilaben hospital. By 3 am, Koyeri had been moved to the Andheri hospital. On Saturday, the doctors said Koyeri’s condition was stable.
Koyeri,who is a recipient of the National Film Awards for Omkara and has several other accolades, was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on Tuesday. Despite complaining of extreme uneasiness, his family says that the hospital did nothing to help.
Koyeri, according to the family, suffered a stroke on Thursday morning, when he was taken for the MRI.
