Karachi : A brief look at the Hezbollah movement of Lebanon. Hezbollah or the Islamic Resistance movement of Lebanon is a cultural, social, political and military Shia group of twelve imams in Lebanon, which was established in 1982AD in order to confront the usurping Israeli regime. This group is part of a coalition known as the “Axis of Resistance” and with the support and leadership of Iran, it tries to prevent the influence of Israel and America in the Middle East. Hamas in Gaza, Shia militia groups in Iraq and Houthis in Yemen are among the other groups of this coalition. This party started the activity against Israel with martyrdom operations. Then it increased its military power and started confronting Israel with Katyusha rockets and guerilla wars. The Islamic movement of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movement in Gaza, the Shia militia groups in Iraq and the Houthis in Yemen are among the other groups of this coalition. Lebanon’s Hezbollah is known as the “most powerful non-governmental military force” in the world and enjoys a special love among the Lebanese people, including Shiites, Sunnis and Christians. This group has gradually opened its foothold in the political system of Lebanon and with its political branch “Loyalty to the Resistance Faction” has become one of the decisive political parties in Lebanon, which in practice has the power to veto cabinet decisions.
Till today (2024), there have been several military conflicts between Hezbollah and Israel, including the full-scale war of this group with the well-equipped Israeli army in 2000 AD and the expulsion of the Zionists from Lebanon. In fact, the Hezbollah movement was able to defeat the Israeli army and expel it from the territory of its country for the first time in the history of the formation of the usurping Zionist government. The 33-day war in 2006 is the second major confrontation between Hezbollah and the Zionist regime, which the Israelis know as the second Lebanon- Hezbollah war, labeled as the 33-day war between Tammuz and the Iranians. Israel started this war with the aim of disarming Hezbollah and freeing its two soldiers who were captured by Hezbollah. After the al-Aqsa operation on October 7, 2023, due to Hezbollah’s support for Hamas and the people of the Gaza Strip, the clashes between the Israeli army and the Lebanese Hezbollah forces intensified. Israel also brutally assassinated and martyred a large number of civillian people of the Shiite area of ??Beirut, as well as a group of Hezbollah members and commanders, including its popular leader Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah. Before Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Martyr Seyed Abbas Mousavi was the general secretary of this party, who was martyred by the Zionist regime on February 16, 1992, along with his wife and child.
