Karachi Pakistan – : Farkhruddin Diwan, Chairman of Pak-UAE Business Council & a prominent member of the Dawoodi Bohra community, has highlighted the fact that UAE has made giant strides in solarization, biotechnology and infrastructure development – so much so that it now considered a leading player in emerging technologies globally in general and for GCC region in particular.
Fakhruddin Diwan apprised that a high-profile delegation of UAE investors and entrepreneurs is in Pakistan and they have met Prime Minister & Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, among other top officials.
It is pertinent to note that UAE has become a 500 billion dollar economy; have friendly & strategic ties with Pakistan; is one of the top countries for Pakistan in workers remittances & employment opportunities and social welfare & humanitarian causes – however, Pakistan must strive to translate these strong people-to-people and government-to-government relations into mega investments, oil & gas exploration, infrastructure projects and industrial collaborations.
Additionally, UAE is always with Pakistan vis-à-vis strategic issues; managing foreign exchange reserves & avoiding default; extending support at international forums and the collective well-being of Muslim Ummah.
Mr. Diwan also stressed that the government should take business community onboard to make the trade & business delegations visits inclusive, objective and result-oriented; and, for that matter, priority areas should be identified in a way that aims at the expansion of cooperation beyond conventional areas, e.g. solar energy, biotechnology, fin-tech, healthcare technologies, internationally-aligned tourism & hospitality facilities, shipping & transportation and regional connectivity.
