Showbiz Desk: Artist Rose Mohammad, sister of Pakistani artist, well-known actress and host Mathira, has unveiled the biased attitude in the Pakistani showbiz industry.
Rose Mohammad recently participated in a show as a guest, during which Rose Mohammad answered many questions of the show’s host Ahsan Khan and talked about his personal and professional life.
Talking about the prejudice against whites and dark colors in the Pakistani showbiz industry, Rose Mohammad said, “In the Pakistani industry, it is easier for whites to get jobs, they have more attention from the people and the industry.”
She said: “They feel that whites are more likely to be cast. They believe that if you need black for a character, then only a darker actor should be offered the role.” Not that a white actor should be blackened by applying base or make-up and then he should be made to play the role.
Mathira Mohammad known as Mathira was born into a Muslim family in Harare, Zimbabwe to a South African father and Pakistani mother. She is a Pakistani model, dancer, television hostess, singer, actress, and her sister also an actress.
