Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi has clarified his earlier remarks about Fahad Sheikh’s public apology to veteran actor Mohammed Ahmed after facing criticism on social media. The actor said his comments were misunderstood because he had misspoken while recording the video.
In an Instagram story shared by his wife, Sana Faysal, Quraishi explained that he had intended to commend Mohammed Ahmed for not publicly naming the actor involved when discussing the alleged disrespect during a recent podcast appearance. He added that Fahad Sheikh’s decision to apologise was also a positive step but admitted that his wording created confusion.
After more than 100 words, Faysal Quraishi said the mix-up led many people to believe he was defending Fahad Sheikh because of their friendship. Rejecting those claims, he said Mohammed Ahmed had been a close friend for around 25 years, long before he became acquainted with younger actors in the industry.
“Actually Sana, I was trying to say it’s big of Mohammed Ahmed sahab that he wasn’t giving out names and it’s good that Fahad apologised. There was a mix-up,” Quraishi said, adding that he planned to remove the earlier video when he found the time.
The clarification follows a controversy that began after Mohammed Ahmed revealed on a podcast that a younger actor had allegedly behaved disrespectfully toward him during a production. Although Ahmed did not identify the individual, the comments sparked widespread speculation across social media.
The situation escalated after a video allegedly showing the incident circulated online, prompting many users to identify Fahad Sheikh as the actor involved. Sheikh later issued a public apology to Ahmed through Instagram Stories.
In a separate video, Quraishi urged social media users to avoid personal attacks and online harassment. He said making mistakes should not become a reason to target someone’s family or children or encourage online abuse.
Quraishi stressed that the matter should remain between Mohammed Ahmed and Fahad Sheikh and urged the public to allow both actors to move forward without further hostility.
